This taonga was inspired by Te Wheke, the octopus who was chased by Kupe (one of the first explorers) from Hawaiki to Aotearoa. This story illustrates great determination, drive and persistence in achieving a goal or moving from the place you are in now to where you would like to be.
It measures 10cm in length and 3.5cm in width, is double-sided, with a brown adjustable waxed cord.
