Bone Carving #22 Takarangi Spiral

This Taonga is called a 'Takarangi' or double spiraled pattern. It symbolises wisdom and knowledge linking both the spiritual and physical realms.

The six paua inlays represent the 6 days of creation and the Takarangi represents the seventh day (Te Hāpati), also representing rest, new beginnings and new life.

Measures 4.5cm length x 3.5cm width, is double-sided and has a black platted and adjustable waxed cord.
