The Hei Matau hook reminds us of the story of Maui who used his hook to fish up Te Ika a Maui, the North Island of New Zealand. 

It reminds us that we can set new goals, that sometimes seem out of our reach, but with determination and perseverance and a plan we can achieve the impossible! 

This matau is a double-sided matau/hook that measures 10.6cm (length)  x 4.3cm (width), has a plaited, adjustable wax cord and paua inlay for eyes.
